Quality Considerations
Cabling is the most important part of the network. Whilst equipment can all be changed with very little downtime, that's not the case with cablings. Buildings have a averge life-span of 60 years before being rebuilt and hence the importance of having 25 years warranty on cabling cannot be over-emphasised. Another very important aspect of cabling is its technology future-proofing which is not by any means easy in the IT arena.
EMS's Value-Add
An important aspect of EMS's value-add is the quality recommendations, installation, documentation and maintenance. At EMS we provide a one-stop solution to your cabling needs and are happy to meet with you. Kindly contact us to get the ball rolling.
Whilst our competitor may be able to pledge 25 years warranty, some of them may not be around after a few years. Being in business since 1990; longevity, stabilty and international outreach are very important aspects in actually providing maintenance and service during the warranty period.
Data Cabling is not the same as electricity cabling
To say that data cabling is the same as electricity cabling shows a lack of thought on the subject. Principally the differences are:
a. Electrons moving in data cable is discrete while it is not so in electrical cables.
b. Data security is a big consideration in data cabling.
c. Installation quality (eg turning radius) affects throughput while electricity cabling only needs connection.
d. Technology advancements demand higher throughput in data cable while electricity demands decreases in new equipment. (A certain amount of future-proofing is needed.)
e. The volume of cables returning to the data center is large and so special provision must be made.
f. Downtime for changes in data cabling is much higher in data cables while electricity recabling can usually be done with no down time.
g. Warranty for data cables is usually 25 years while in electricity it is usually 1 year. So it is important to have a strong company to honour the warranty.
